Florence Nightingale, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen and Sigmund Freud lived and worked concurrent for 66 years, between 1856 and 1910. During this time the modern medicine and health care developed. All three have played a decisive role in how we perceive our bodies and psyches. Nightingale is the mother of hygiene, a construction of ideas not only about cleanliness around the body but also in thought and action. Freud is the inventor of the subconscious. A world governed by sexual desires and impulses. Röntgen developed x-rays that could see through flesh and bone. The body became translucent and technology entered the medical world. Something that recently became known is that these three historical personas not only knew about each other but actually were associated with each other as friends.

Florence Nightingale, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen och Sigmund Freud levde parallellt med varandra i 66 år, mellan 1856 och 1910. Under denna tid utvecklades den moderna medicinen och sjukvården. Alla dessa tre har spelat en avgörande roll hur vi ser på våra kroppar och psyken. Nightingale är hygienens moder. Ett idé bygge som inte bara handlar om renhet runt kroppen utan också i tanke och handling. Freud är det undermedvetnas uppfinnare. En värld som styrs av sexuella begär och drifter. Röntgen utvecklade x-strålarna som kunde se genom kött och ben. Kroppen blev genomskinlig och tekniken tog sig in på den medicinska scenen. Någonting som nyligt blivit känt är att dessa tre historiska personer inte bara kände till varandra utan faktiskt också umgicks som vänner.
