The function of the drapery reminds of a door. It separates a room from another. But it`s an agreed divider, temporary in it´s nature.
In a hospital environment the drapery is mostly used as a protection of integrity. It draws a line between the public, the institution and it´s staff, and the private, the patient and his or her body.

The theatre curtain works as a divider between the reel and the unreal. When the curtain is drawn aside the fictional world begins.
Placing something behind curtains creates a curiosity about what is hidden. In that sense they accentuates what is covered in the same time as hiding it.

Draperiets funktion påminner om en dörr. De separerar ett rum från ett annat. Men det är en överenskommen delare, temporär i sin natur.
I en sjukhusmiljö används draperiet oftast för att skydda integritet. De drar en linje mellan det offentliga, institution och dess personal, och det privata, patienten och dess kropp.

Teaterdraperier fungerar som en delare mellan verklighet och fiktion. När gardinen dragits åt sidan kan fantasivärlden ta över.
Att placera något bakom draperier skapar nyfikenhet om det som dolts. Det som täcks accentueras samtidigt som det döljs.
